Can I speak plainer? Do not consider me now as an elegant female, intending to plague you, but as a rational creature, speaking the truth from her heart.Elizabeth Bennet, Pride and Prejudice (via cnell)(via ravengoodwoman)

I must confess that I think her as delightful a creature as ever appeared in print, and how I shall be able to tolerate those who do not like her at least I do not know.

So, this is a thing and let me explain it:
My freshman year of college I fell head-over-heels in love with Pride and Prejudice. Immediately I began working on an LGBT adaption, and for years it evolved and evolved and I could never really get a hold of what it wanted to become. Book, comic, webseries? Today I finished shooting the pilot for this project, which has spent two years in development hell, and about four months in production. So I felt today was the day to let you know it was actually happening.
Pride Week & Prejudice is the story of Elijah Bennet. Elijah Bennet is on the board of his university’s Queer Student Union. He’s also a triple major, the second-oldest of five children, starting his senior thesis, spearheading a gender-neutral housing campaign, writing a healthcare bill for the Trans* students in his school, and he…he’s just really busy. He begins keeping a video manifesto for a class on culture, he thinks he’s taking on a straight-forward task of documenting his Student Union. However a battle against Queer Student Rights disrupts his school life and his mother’s plot to marry off her children in order to secure their inheritance isn’t helping. Especially when it’s propelled into high action by the arrival of a pair of new faces. In the midst of all the conflict, Elijah finds it harder and harder to be sure of what to believe anymore.
Yes, there are very obvious questions about why on earth I would even bother doing this now. The truth is simple; because my team and I like it and we were going to do it anyway.
The series is a bit of an epic, but will have a shorter lifespan, and it’ll run faithfully to Jane Austen’s work volume-by-volume with breaks in between. The series has a large cast, with faces both familiar and new, and should begin airing in late October. Updates will be posted to the Tumblr: PrideWeekandPrejudice.tumblr.com and I’ll let you know what’s going on as it unfolds. In the meantime, feel free to ask me anything.
To answer the question I’m sure you’re all dying to know: yes, my Grandmother is playing Mrs. Bennet.
well omg it might be my new favorite thing :)

There is a stubbornness about me that never can bear to be frightened at the will of others. My courage always rises with every attempt to intimidate me.-Elizabeth Bennet, Pride & Prejudice
I’m going to say this in my head every day in the hopes that one day I will be as bad ass as Lizzy Bennet.

I am only resolved to act in that manner, which will, in my own opinion, constitute my happiness, without reference to you, or to any person so wholly unconnected to me.
